School Programming

Through the Substance Abuse Education and Demand Reduction (SAEDR) grant, TLC’s SAEDR program provides targeted substance use prevention and intervention services for adolescents.

Impact

Substance abuse counselors utilize Seeking Safety, an evidence-based, trauma-informed intervention designed to address both substance use and traumatic stress by teaching practical coping strategies and promoting emotional regulation. Services are delivered in partnership with school districts, focusing on adolescents who have been referred due to substance use concerns or related risk behaviors.

By increasing access to specialized counseling and prevention services, the SAEDR program aims to reduce adolescent substance use, address underlying trauma, and promote healthier, safer choices among youth.
